Rab market, supermarkets in Croatia and Rab fishmarket

Rab market, fishmarket and major Croatian supermarket chains like Plodine, Konzum and Tommy on island Rab offer a big choice for shopping. Visitors to island Rab are often not staying close to town Rab, but in one of the many parts of island like Lopar, Supetarska Draga or Kampor. These regions have their local grocery stores and also a couple of large Croatian supermarkets. However if you are looking for the fresh fish or vegetable market, you can only find them closer to town Rab.

RAB MARKET AND FISHMARKET

As you are approaching the old town of Rab at a roundabout, you will see on a street named Sarengrad filled with open cafe’s and shops. Cetral street in Sarengrad extends from the roundabout, and here you will find a couple of bakeries, stores and a shopping centre with stores for clothes, shoes and a furniture store. Sarengrad square is in the middle of this shopping zone, and here is a market and the Rab fishmarket. Rab market here consists also of island Rab’s main fishmarket where you can get your fish, fresh vegetables from the island, cheese, fruit. Two butcheries, a couple of fast food restaurants and cafe’s are also in Rab market zone. For freshest fish and vegetables you should get there earlier in the morning, when fish is brought. Often during the summer tourist season, fish along with squids, mussels are gone before noon. Vegetables are usually available for a longer period.

CROATIAN SUPERMARKETS KONZUM, PLODINE AND TOMMY

Croatian supermarkets Konzum, Plodine or Tommy and local Rab supermarket Petra are available all accross the island. You may find their smaller stores across the island but the larger ones are closer to the town and Palit region. If you are staying in Kampor, supermarket Tommy in Palit is the closest before town, followed by large Konzum „Cash and Carry” supermarket. In Lopar, you’ll find also a big Konzum by the main roundabout in the center of Lopar. If you are staying in Supetarska Draga, a Konzum supermarket is available by the port, both in Donja or Gornja Supetarska Draga. Largest supermarket on island Rab would be Plodine on the way to town near the crossroad between the road to Lopar, Misnjak ferry and the town.

SREDNJA ULICA SHOPPING STREET

Shopping street nearest to the center of old Rab town is Srednja ulica (Middle Street). Right in the centre of old town Rab. Here you will find boutiques, gelaterias, crepes, along with ateliers of local artists. Main street is also filled with tourist related product stores like clothing stores.

NAUTICAL EQUIPMENT STORES

Nautical equipment like boat or yacht parts, engine parts or fishing gear, can be find in Sarengrad’s nautical equipment store „Nobimar”. There is also a nautical equipment store „Aurani” close to the town’s ACI marina in the port of Rab, next to the main Rab petrol station.
